The TUI Group has received delivery of a Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, the first of 70 to be deployed by the company, which owns airlines in six European countries. The aircraft will be operated by TUI fly Belgium. By the end of 2018, a total of nine of the aircraft will be delivered to TUI airlines and will be in service in Belgium, Sweden, UK and the Netherlands. The first 737 MAX for TUI fly Germany is scheduled to be delivered early next year. TUI says it is the first European operator to purchase the plane, which it called the latest and largest member model of the 737 MAX family. According to the carrier, the arrival of the new aircraft is part of a renewal of its Europe-wide fleet with the aim of making flights more economical, cost-efficient and environmentally friendly.
