Travelport announced it has reached a multiyear agreement with Malaysia Airlines that will provide the carrier with access to New Distribution Capability (NDC) content via Travelport+, the technology company’s travel retailing platform. Izham Ismail, group CEO of the airline, said the company is confident that Travelport+ will be its strategic partner in achieving its future business goals. He said the expanded partnership is important to the carrier’s long-term transformative business plan, especially with its NDC initiative implementation. Sue Carter, head of air partners-Asia/Pacific at Travelport, said that with the agreement, the company will be working even more closely with Malaysia Airlines to deliver rich content and branding solutions “which help to further elevate the airline’s retail product offerings through our Travelport+ platform.” Malaysia Airlines, the country’s national carrier, is a member of the Oneworld Alliance. It offers connectivity to 1,000 destinations in more than 150 countries and access to over 650 airport lounges worldwide.
