TravelPerk, a Barcelona-based business travel platform, has acquired Santa Monica-based NexTravel, a business travel platform, as it continues its growth strategy of acquiring other companies and integrating their expertise and teams. Avi Meir, CEO of TravelPerk, said the US has been an important market for the company for some time but, he added, “we’re now more committed than ever to growing our presence here.” He said the acquisition will accelerate growth in the US, doubling the size of the workforce on the ground and adding significantly to the client base. Wen-Wen Lam, CEO of NexTravel, said the deal will bring “a world-class booking experience to our customers and extend their international capabilities.” TravelPerk also announced a partnership with Southwest Airlines that allows customers to book any Southwest flight directly on the TravelPerk platform.
