A new survey from etc. venues, a provider of event spaces, shows that 73% of meeting planners now think hybrid events will continue to be more common in the future, up from 67% when asked in May, while the number of those who think this is just a temporary trend has gone down by 6%. The value of face-to-face meetings was revealed when 88% of planners said they value face-to-face meetings more at the end of 2020, up from 77% in May. In the latest survey, when asked where they think virtual meetings and events will be broadcast from in 2021, 20% said they would be from a professional studio setup; 35% from an office using videoconferencing; and the remaining 45% via Zoom from home. Adam Simpson, director of marketing and sales in the US for etc. venues, said that as hybrid and virtual events are increasingly established alongside live ones, planners “are keen to refine and enhance the quality of presentation and the virtual audiences’ experience.” In light of this, he said, the company is expanding its studio offering and investing in the development of virtual venue tours.
