Air Premia, a South Korean low-cost carrier, announced it would launch four-times-weekly service between Seoul and Newark on May 23.
The carrier began flying in late 2021 and added US service last October, flying five times weekly between Seoul and Los Angeles.
The Newark flights will be operated with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft configured with 56 premium economy seats offering 42 inches between rows and 253 economy seats with 35 inches between rows.
Air Premia will be the only carrier flying between Seoul and Newark. Korean Airlines and Asiana fly between Seoul and New York JFK.
In a statement, the airline said the New York flights are expected to “further reduce the cost burden for travelers amid forecasts of an increase in air ticket prices as travel demand surges.”
