Oneworld, the global travel alliance, will undergo a radical transformation as it marks its 20th anniversary, according to an announcement following a meeting of CEOs of member airlines. Among the changes are a new digital platform that will provide seamless connectivity for customers flying on multi-sector, multi-airline journeys via a mobile app or website without having to download any additional apps or enter more log-in credentials.

The alliance will also have an increased level of co-location projects at key airports, with plans to unveil the first oneworld-branded, developed and managed lounge later this year. Other changes include a fresh approach to corporate sales, enabling oneworld to respond faster to requests for alliance contracts; a revised process for prospecting potential members; and the alliance’s first new membership platform, oneworld connect, designed with smaller, regional airlines in mind and with Fiji Airways as the first partner in this category.
