With the return of travel, EU-origin rail bookings in Europe has seen a steady increase, according to Navan data, rising 6 percent year over year, from 34 percent to 40 percent since Q1 2022. Within France, domestic rail bookings have increased by 54 percent since September 2022, most notably on routes impacted by that country’s short-haul flight ban.
In addition, rail travel is frequently the more economical choice for business travel, saving more than $100 on average per booking, Navan says.

Train v Plane gives travelers who want to make more informed decisions about travel options a tool that enables them to search and book sustainable choices, including rail or, when air travel is required, shop and book the most eco-friendly air routes.
