Southwest Airlines has named Mike Van de Ven as president. He replaces Tom Nealon, who will continue to serve the company as a strategic advisor. Van de Ven, who joined the airline in 1993, has been serving as COO and will now take on the additional responsibilities of internal audit, business continuity, emergency response and enterprise risk management functions.
Air France-KLM has appointed Eric Caron as senior vice president and general manager for North America, a new role. Based in New York, he will oversee Air France and KLM passenger activities within Canada, French Polynesia, Mexico and the US. He most recently served as executive vice president-inflight services, based in France. Caron was previously vice president and general manager for the US in 2016 and for Mexico from 2014-2016. He has been with the airline since 1998.
