United Airlines has named Jake Cefolia as senior vice president, worldwide sales. He will direct the efforts of 725 sales professionals who manage sales programs, services, relationships and revenue with corporations, travel management companies and distributors around the world. Cefolia has been with United since 2007, most recently serving as vice president-sales for the Americas.
Virgin Hotels has named Thomas Becker as senior vice president of operations, responsible for the operational performance of all the brand’s properties. He was most recently area managing director for Two Roads Hospitality, overseeing Ventana Big Sur and Carmel Valley Ranch. Previously, he held executive positions with Aria Resorts & Casinos, Mandarin Oriental, One & Only Resorts and Fairmont.
ACTE Global (Association of Corporate Travel Executives) announced that it has named Christine Liu, Asia Pacific travel manager at Ford Motor Company, as the recipient of this year’s Asia Radiant Award. The award was conferred at the Singapore Global Summit and Corporate Lodging Forum. Liu has over 12 years of corporate travel management experience in the Asia-Pacific region and is an advocate for developing mature corporate travel management systems in China.
Aventri, formerly Etouches, a meetings technology provider, has appointed Michael Burns global head of sales and marketing. It is a new role aimed at driving Aventri’s go-to-market strategy. Prior to Aventri, Burns served as senior vice president of sales and marketing at Madison Logic, a marketing platform.
