InterContinental Hotels Group has named Betty Wilson as vice president, Americas sales, to provide strategic leadership for the company’s multi-brand and multi-segment B2B sales efforts in the region. She previously served as vice president, global sales for Starwood. Wilson was also senior vice president, business development with ConferenceDirect.
Virgin Atlantic Limited (Virgin Atlantic) announced that Shai Weiss, currently executive vice president and chief commercial officer, will become CEO, effective Jan. 1, 2019. Craig Kreeger,
the current CEO, will remain with the airline until his retirement on Dec. 31, 2018 to assist with the transition. Weiss has been with the carrier since August 2012 as a board member and assumed
the role of CFO in July 2014, becoming CCO in January 2017.
Hilton has appointed Matt Fry as senior vice president, development in Asia-Pacific, responsible for the overall development strategy for the region. Fry has over 20 years of experience in real estate and development, with nearly 18 years at Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Most recently, he served as head of global real estate operations at WeWork, the shared workspace company.
Carlson Wagonlit Travel has appointed Niklas Andréen as executive vice president and chief traveler experience officer, effective in September. He will oversee worldwide Traveler Services, which is being rebranded as Traveler Experience. Andréen is currently senior vice president and managing director of hospitality, car, digital media, corporate and digital (beyond air) at Travelport.
Hard Rock International has named Graham Kiy as area vice president of operations, hotels, in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He will lead the management, operations and pre-opening planning of Hard Rock Hotels throughout those regions. He joins the company from Jumeirah Nanjing, where, as general manager and regional vice president of operations, he oversaw the operations and pre-opening phase of a number of Jumeirah properties in China.
