Appointments and promotions at Commonwealth Hotels, Two Roads Hospitality, Denihan Hospitality and Benchmark
Commonwealth Hotels has named Megan Gabriel field director of sales and marketing, responsible for maximizing hotel revenues through sales, marketing and revenue management strategies. She will be providing support to properties in the Midwest and Florida. She has over 16 years of experience and has worked for Marriott and Hilton. She most recently was regional vice president of sales and marketing for Janus Hotels and Resorts.
Two Roads Hospitality has named Craig Waterman vice president of openings and transitions. He will oversee new and transitioning projects. His first assignment is as managing director of El San Juan Hotel in Puerto Rico, overseeing its restoration and renovation. He joined the company in 2014 as both general manager of Hotel Kabuki, a Joie de Vivre property in San Francisco, and regional director of operations, overseeing the northern California, Arizona and
Hawaii regions. Prior to joining Two Roads, Waterman was transitions and acquisitions leader for Gemstone Resorts.
Denihan Hospitality has promoted Gul Goknar Turkmenoglu to regional vice president of
operations. She will continue to serve as general manager of The Benjamin hotel in Manhattan and
will also oversee the company’s operations team, including all general managers. She has more than 25 years of hospitality management experience at both domestic and international hotels. She joined Denihan in 2016 after serving as assistant general manager of the Hudson New York.
Benchmark, a hospitality company, has named Eric Gavin senior vice president sales & marketing. He has almost 20 years of experience, most recently as CMO for Salamander Hotels & Resorts. He had previously been with Benchmark as regional vice president, sales and marketing. He has also been vice president of marketing for Noble House Hotels & Resorts.
