Appointments and promotions at Omni, Associated Luxury Hotels International, JetBlue, SBE, Choice Hotels International and Brussels Airlines
Omni Hotels & Resorts has named Peter Strebel as president. A 30-year-plus veteran of the hospitality industry, he had been serving as CMO and senior vice president of sales. Prior to that, Strebel was senior vice president of operations for Omni. He has also served as CMO for Wyndham.
Associated Luxury Hotels International has named David Almond regional vice president of sales – Midwest US and Canada, based in Chicago. He will oversee sales teams in Chicago, Kansas City, Mo., Louisville and Toronto. He had been director of sales and marketing for the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile and prior to that worked for Starwood and Hilton.
JetBlue has named Doug McGraw vice president, corporate communications, and Elizabeth Windram vice president, marketing. McGraw had been director of corporate communications for the airline; prior to that he worked at FleishmanHillard, the public relations agency. Windram had been director of JetBlue’s brand and advertising for the past two years.
SBE, a hospitality company, has named Siddharth Narang as chief development officer, responsible for the development pipeline, real estate investments and global growth. He has nearly 20 years of experience in hospitality real estate and brand development, having worked with Crescent Capital Ventures and Starwood Hotels and Resorts.
Choice Hotels International has promoted Angelique Kelly-Lara to vice president, global talent acquisitions. She will oversee the company’s global talent acquisition department and will be responsible for developing and implementing new hiring strategies to support the company’s corporate objectives. She has been a member of Choice’s human resources team since 2014, most recently serving as senior director of human resources.
Brussels Airlines has named Dieter Vranckx as CFO and deputy CEO, to begin his role on May 1. He will head the airline’s finance department and will also lead the Aeropolitical and human resources units and the IT division. He has held multiple jobs at Lufthansa and has also worked at Swissair and Sabena.
