Appointments and promotions at Hyatt, Oakwood Worldwide, Alaska Airlines, Associated Luxury Hotels International, Travelport and Steigenberger DMCC
Hyatt has named Mark Vondrasek as chief commercial officer, responsible for driving guest and customer engagement functions while working across the organization to enhance the frequency and level of engagement with guests. He will continue to oversee the World of Hyatt loyalty platform as well as new growth platforms like the Miraval and Exhale brands.
Oakwood Worldwide, the corporate lodging provider, has named Rebecca Tann as senior vice president of sales and marketing, responsible for setting the strategic sales and marketing direction for the company. Tann has previously worked for Life Time Fitness, Regus, Ford, FedEx and Disney.
Alaska Airlines has named Todd Sproul as vice president of system operations, overseeing the carrier’s systems operations control and coordination with Horizon Air and other regional partners. He is a 30-year veteran of the airline, having previously served as managing director of systems operational control, responsible for the airline’s safety and on-time performance.
Associated Luxury Hotels International has named Aretha Kelly as director of sales, based in Washington, D.C. She is responsible for assisting meeting professionals, association executives, incentive specialists and business executives in the Mid-Atlantic region. She was previously business development consultant for CaseWorthy, Inc. and has also worked for American Express Meetings and Events, and ConferenceDirect.
Travelport has appointed Scott Barber as managing director for Australia and New Zealand, responsible for managing operations and reinforcing business in the two countries. He has been with the company for 10 years, with his most recent role director of commercial strategy, Asia Pacific.
Steinberger DMCC has named Taras Ettl managing director and vice president of Middle East and Asia operations in Dubai. The company is a subsidiary of Steigenberger Hotels and encompasses all activities outside Europe. Ettl most recently completed a six-year stint as vice president of development for Middle East and Africa at the InterContinental Hotels Group in Dubai. Steigenberger now has three brands: Steigenberger, Jaz and InterCity.
