Smart Hotel Rate, a hotel analytics technology provider, has named Michael Jacques to lead its business development. He has over 35 years of experience across many travel industry sectors, according to an announcement. Smart Hotel Rate, according to the announcement, employs proprietary algorithms and APIs to enable travel management companies, corporations and hotels to access a single set of data — resulting in accuracy, transparency and trust throughout the end-to-end management of hotel programs.
WestJet has named Karl Schuster as executive vice president and chief loyalty officer, beginning early in 2022. He has over 19 years of loyalty experience, including six years as CEO of Velocity Frequent Flyer, Virgin Australia’s loyalty program. Prior to that, Schuster led multiyear loyalty programs for Qantas, British Airways and Malaysia Airlines. Chief loyalty officer is a newly created role for WestJet, responsible for the execution of growing the carrier’s loyalty program, products, services and partnerships.
