Fiji Airways has appointed Marc Cavaliere as chief marketing officer. He will be responsible for a new, dedicated global airline alliances and partnership function, as well as all sales channels, marketing activities and related commercial functions. Cavaliere has 37 years of airline industry experience, with many international assignments. He has served as board member of the Star Alliance Airline Management Board for five years, and as Chairman for two years. Cavaliere also held senior management positions with South African Airways, Spirit Airlines, American Airlines and Pan Am.

American Airlines has promoted Patrick O’Keeffe to senior vice president-people. He most recently served as vice president-information technology and has held a number of other positions during his more than 28 years with American. In his new role, he will lead the global human resources team responsible for talent acquisition and development, team member training and support, compensation, benefits and diversity.

O’Keefe began his career at American in the market planning department and then assumed roles in numerous departments, including: sales planning, customer research, onboard service, and food and beverage. After 16 years of experience on the commercial side of American, he moved to the IT team in 2004 with roles in customer technology and revenue and planning technology. In his most recent role, O’Keeffe was responsible for the integration of the passenger service system as well as the corporate technology teams for revenue management, network planning, operations research, alliances, regionals, human resources, payroll, and finance. Previously, O’Keefe served as vice president – airlines operations technology and vice president – business and operations systems.

Furnished Quarters, a provider of temporary furnished apartments, has named Tracey Taverna as corporate sales manager, responsible for new business development in the corporate sector and expansion of the company’s client base. She most recently served as area director of sales and marketing for Best Western PLUS Hotel Tria in Cambridge and Best Western at Historic Concord in Concord, MA. Prior to that, she was director of sales at the Conference Center at Waltham Woods.

Southwest Airlines has announced that Bob Jordan will assume the role of executive vice president of corporate services, effective July 1. He will be responsible for the people department, Southwest University, airport affairs, culture services, diversity & inclusion, and corporate facilities. The company also announced that Andrew Watterson, currently senior vice president & chief revenue officer, will be promoted effective July 1 to executive vice president & chief revenue officer. Watterson joined Southwest in October 2013 as vice president of network planning and performance. Previously, he was with Hawaiian Airlines as vice president of planning and revenue management.
