The Meetings Mean Business Coalition is reshaping the postponed Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID), scheduled for April 14, into a virtual celebration of the industry. Meetings business leaders in the US, Canada and India offered three opportunities to join forces on April 14: participate in a 12-hour GMID Virtual broadcast hosted by Meeting Professionals International; join in a first-of-its-kind 90-minute webcast called GMIC Goes Virtual and help break the world record for the largest virtual meeting in history; and commit to taking action in communities and report back on meetingsmeanbusiness.com/commit2community. The coalition said it maintains a goal of sharing a new date for GMID as soon as possible “and we look forward to an in-person celebration later this fall – ideally during IMEX America” (scheduled for Sept. 15 to 17 in Las Vegas).
