Lufthansa has resumed service to New York’s JFK, operating five weekly flights to and from Frankfurt. The route operates out of New York every day except Tuesday and Thursday, using an Airbus A330-300 with a three-class configuration of Business, Premium Economy and Economy classes. From Aug. 31 to Oct. 24, the flights will increase to a daily service. By the end of October, over 70% of originally planned long-haul routes will be operated by The Lufthansa Group’s carriers. Additionally, 90% of all originally planned short- and medium-haul destinations will be served again. Swiss, one of the group’s airlines, has been serving Newark throughout the pandemic, and is currently serving JFK five times weekly. Austrian Airlines is also flying five times weekly, roundtrip, between Newark and Vienna. Brussels Airlines plans to resume flights to JFK at the end of the summer.
