New York – The 310-room Embassy Suites by Hilton New York Midtown Manhattan has opened in the Fashion District, the only location for the brand in Manhattan. All rooms have complimentary WiFi, large-format HDTV, refrigerator, microwave and coffeemaker. The hotel offers several food and beverage options, including SkyLawn Bar & Social, an outdoor space; The Heist Bar and Lounge, serving Italian food; and the Embassy Lounge, serving complimentary breakfast daily. There is also a 900-square-foot meeting space.
Anderson, Ind. – The 85-room Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott has opened five minutes from downtown Anderson. The hotel offers a 24/7 Corner Market, complimentary breakfast, free WiFi, an indoor pool and fitness center.
Seattle – The dual-branded Even Hotel/ Staybridge Suites Seattle South Lake Union has opened. The 123-room Even Hotel has an Athletic Studio with cardio, stretch and strength training equipment; guest rooms include a fitness zone and there are healthy options at the Cork & Kale café. The hotel also has 2,000 square feet of meeting space. The 112-room Staybridge Suites offers a mix of studio and one-bedroom suites, complimentary breakfast buffet and evening reception and 24-hour business center.
Xi’an, China – The Grand Hyatt Xi’an hotel has opened within the Xi’an High-Tech Industries Development Zone, home to more than 200 Fortune 500 companies. The 396-room hotel connects to an office tower via a skybridge 328 feet above the ground. There are multiple dining options, 24,907 square feet of meeting space and a spa.
Singapore – Six Senses Duxton, the first city hotel from Six Senses, has opened in the Chinatown area of this country. None of the hotel’s 49 rooms are the same, though each features a Naturalmat organic mattress, flat-panel television with satellite channels and Bose Bluetooth speaker. With a dedication to sustainability, the hotel does not use cut flowers for decorative purposes, plastic linings for trash bins, plastic drinking straws, plastic water bottles, or paper cups. Other paper resources, according to managers, are “fully optimized” and usage is monitored closely.
Newark, N.J. – Tryp by Wyndham Newark Downtown has opened with 101 rooms, along the Newark Bay and central to transportation options, including Newark Liberty International Airport. The hotel is in a 1920’s building and offers free WiFi, free airport shuttle and a restaurant.
