Austin — Hotel Viata has opened in what had been Hotel Granduca Austin after a major renovation that included the addition of a spa, a restaurant, renovated pool deck and lobby and more. The hotel, situated on 38 acres, features 194 rooms, including 38 suites with small kitchenettes and separate living room areas. It has more than 12,000 square feet of event space.

Aberdeen, Md. — Candlewood Suites on Aberdeen Proving Ground has been opened by IHG Army Hotels. The 69-room property is part of a Privatized Army Lodging initiative that now supports more than 12,000 hotel rooms across 40 military installations nationwide. The hotel offers studio and one-bedroom suites, each with a full kitchen. Amenities include free breakfast and outdoor grill and fireplace.

Vinh Yen, Vietnam — Crowne Plaza Vinh Yen City Center has opened a 45-minute drive from Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi and close to 19 industrial parks. According to IHG Hotels & Resorts, this is the first and only five-star hotel under an international brand in the city. This will be the first hotel in Southeast Asia to introduce the new Crowne Plaza design concept lobby, with spaces to work, rest and relax. The 170-room property has an Executive Lounge on the 22nd floor offering early check-in and late checkout, free breakfast, afternoon tea and evening snacks. The hotel also has two restaurants, a bar, a fitness center, an outdoor pool and extensive meeting space.

South Bend, Ind. — The SureStay Plus Hotel by Best Western South Bend Notre Dame has opened with 85 rooms, each with a 50-inch flat-screen TV, microwave and mini-fridge. The property offers a 24-hour fitness center, guest laundry, meeting facilities and business center.
