World of Hyatt loyalty program members will be able to earn and redeem points during stays at participating Small Luxury Hotels properties when they book through Hyatt channels. The launch of the alliance is targeted for the end of the year. Mark Hoplamazian, CEO of Hyatt, said the arrangement allows Hyatt loyalty members to earn and spend points at SLH hotels in areas where Hyatt has no presence. He said SLH’s high-end collection of boutique hotel experiences means members will soon be able to earn and redeem points in more places, including many new locations in Europe and Asia. Filip Boyen, CEO of SLH, said his group expects increased occupancy with significant exposure to the World of Hyatt’s more than 10 million members. Hyatt has over 700 properties globally, while SLH has over 500.
