Hilton announced a new cleanliness and disinfection program, to be called Hilton CleanStay, in North America. The company will collaborate with RB, maker of Lysol and Dettol, and consult with the Mayo Clinic to develop processes and employee training to help guests enjoy a cleaner and safer stay. Hilton CleanStay was developed to meet evolving consumer expectations during the Covid-19 pandemic. In a statement, the company said that research indicates that consumers have heightened concerns regarding hygiene on their journey, and trust in cleanliness standards will be critical to restarting travel. Medical experts from the Mayo Clinic Covid-19 Response Team will advise on new technologies and approaches, assist in training development and create a rigorous quality assurance program. Elements of the program include: Hilton CleanStay Room Seal, to be placed on doors to indicate a room has not been accessed since it was cleaned; extra disinfection of high-touch areas like light switches, door handles and TV remotes; removal of paper like guest directories; contactless check-in; and more.
