Travel and event management platform says additions are response to ‘exponential growth’ >>

Groupize, an all-in-one platform for travel, event and meetings management, has added six new members to its management and executive team. The expansion, according to an announcement, comes at a point of exponential growth for the company, with a sizeable increase in the pipeline as demand for the company’s solution is at an all-time high. The appointments include Courtney Bruen as director of sales (formerly with Convene, Longwood Venues and Marriott); Justin Peticolas as manager, implementation and onboarding (Lanyon, CWT and Rainfocus); Mike MacNair as growth advisor (MacNair Travel Management and Direct Travel), Adam Siskin as CFO (Orbitz and IBM), Shilpa Venkat as project manager (First American Title) and Mike Burkle as engineer (Level 7). As a result of the pandemic, said the announcement, organizations of all types and sizes are now looking to mandate a standardized program to help them mitigate risk, reduce cost and increase efficiency. With existing systems focused on complex meetings and professionals, or lacking functionality, Groupize fills the gap as the industry begins to prepare for the digitization happening in meetings management, making it the preferred alternative to more costly, fragmented, and difficult to use systems. The platform, said the announcement, delivers the simplest user interface, self-service and next-level end-to-end functionality for in-person, hybrid or virtual events. Alisa de Gaspe Beaubien, CEO, said event technology “is no longer a nice to have,” noting that the new executives have decades of experience in the space. Charles de Gaspe Beaubien, chief commercial officer, said the appointments are “a testament to the promise of a return to normal now that a vaccine is being distributed.” Groupize remains committed, he said, to developing solutions “that will transform an outdated industry and bring oversight and insight to the largest area of unmanaged corporate expense and risk.”
