Travel insurance and assistance company will work with ride-sharing provider to offer ground transportation services

Generali Global Assistance, which offers travel insurance and other duty-of-care products, has entered into a partnership with Lyft. The arrangement, according to the company, will help ensure that set-up and billing for covered transportation for insured and corporate travelers “can be managed more efficiently and effectively with less travel interruption and higher productivity for travelers.” That will be accomplished by booking ground transportation through Generali team members with direct access to Lyft’s “concierge platform.” Additionally, the partnership, according to Generali, “will reduce the overall cost of ground transport which will be passed through to Generali Global Assistance’s clients.” Chris Carnicelli, CEO of Generali, said the partnership is “merely the tip of the iceberg in terms of our plans to integrate Lyft’s services across our business lines.”
