Carrier to sell open seat for $39 beginning May 8 and running through at least Aug. 31 >>

Frontier Airlines passengers can now reserve a “More Room” seat assignment – with a confirmed empty middle seat next to them. Passengers can select a More Room seat starting at $39 per passenger per flight when booking on the carrier’s website or at check-in, subject to availability. Barry Biffle, CEO, said that while the airline believes the best measure to keep everyone healthy is to require face covering, it is offering the More Room option “for extra peace of mind or simply additional comfort.” Flights departing May 8 through Aug. 31 will have 18 More Room seats; the airline will announce later whether the program will extend beyond Aug. 31. Frontier had already announced that as of May 8, it will require that all passengers wear a face covering at ticket counters, gate areas and onboard aircraft.
