J.D. Power report shows that awards beyond hotel stays increase program approval
by: BTE
A diverse portfolio of hotel loyalty program reward options is a key driver of member satisfaction, according to the J.D. Power 2017 Hotel Loyalty Program Satisfaction Study. The study showed higher satisfaction among members who redeem rewards for dining, merchandise and special events than among those redeeming rewards for hotel stays alone. Rick Garlick, travel and hospitality practice lead at J.D. Power, said that as loyalty and rewards programs continue to saturate the consumer market, the key to success for hotel programs is variety. Also important are flexibility and ease in redeeming points. The study ranked Marriott Rewards the top program in terms of overall member satisfaction, followed by World of Hyatt and Hilton Honors.
