Delta Air Lines is establishing a global cleanliness division – a new department within the carrier’s customer experience organization dedicated to innovating and evolving cleanliness standards. In the three months since the global pandemic dramatically impacted the world, according to an announcement, teams across Delta quickly and effectively established a new standard of cleanliness for the carrier. This latest move, said the announcement, is a way for Delta  “to continue bringing laser focus to cleanliness efforts as part of the layers of protection we are offering customers.” Mike Medeiros has been named vice president-global cleanliness. He said he is looking forward to innovating process and elevating standards “so that every customer on every flight feels confident in their choice to fly Delta.” Bill Lentsch, chief customer experience officer, said Medeiros has been a “steadfast leader” in the airline’s transformation and cleanliness focus to date, effectively working across teams to coordinate efforts on a mass scale.
