Delta Air Lines is adding new flights between New York-JFK and Stockholm (June 1) and between Salt Lake City and London-Heathrow (May 14) as part of a major expansion of operations in anticipation of summer travel. The carrier will have 143% more seats this summer than it did in the summer of 2021. Joe Esposito, senior vice president-network planning, said the airline will offer up to 74 daily flights to 21 European destinations from 10 US gateways. The airline also accelerated improvements to equipment, he said, including more seats than ever before in Delta Premium Select, the premium economy cabin, which will be available on nearly every flight to Europe in the months ahead. As international travel returns, according to a statement, customers on nearly every flight to Europe will enjoy upgraded experiences on the airline’s refreshed Airbus A330 and Boeing 767-300 fleets, which now offer a consistent onboard experience with a choice of four seating categories: Delta One or Delta One Suites; Delta Premium Select; Delta Comfort+; and Main Cabin. Both fleet types have also received additional upgrades like refreshed lavatories and new LED cabin lighting.
