CWT, the travel management platform, announced it has joined the global network of  the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). The partnership means CWT will become an active contributor to the work GSTC does as part of its drive toward widespread adoption of universal sustainable travel and tourism principles.  CWT says it has been active on the sustainability front, recently launching enhanced CO2 emission reporting to underpin responsible travel programs. This followed the introduction of carbon footprint indicators in March 2022. CWT continues to work with pioneers such as carbon intelligence platform Thrust Carbon, to bring further enhancements to its responsible travel consulting and portfolio. Charlie Sullivan, vice president-product management at CWT, said the company is “thrilled” to be part of the GSTC family, “combining our efforts and influence to drive awareness and adoption of standards for sustainable travel.” The GSTC is a nonprofit organization created jointly by United Nations agencies and prominent conservation organizations to establish and manage global standards for sustainability in travel and tourism, known as the GSTC Criteria.
