Booking Holdings Inc. (parent of Booking.com) has agreed to purchase Etraveli Group, a global flight booking provider, from CVC Capital Partners for about $1.8 billion. Already a partner of Booking.com — helping power its existing flight product — Etraveli Group, said an announcement, will complement Booking Holdings’ ongoing work to build a frictionless global flights offering “to deliver on the company’s overall mission to make it easier for everyone to experience the world.”  Glenn Fogel, CEO of Booking Holdings, said that as international air travel rebounds from the impact of the pandemic, the company looks forward to building upon its existing relationship with Etraveli Group “to make the travel booking experience easier and more seamless to support our partners and customers.” Etraveli Group was founded in 2000 and has nearly 1,000 employees, with headquarters in Sweden and offices in Athens, Toronto and India. Under the agreement, Etraveli Group will maintain its headquarters in Sweden as well as its current management team. Etraveli will operate as an independent business under the Booking Holdings umbrella.
