Avelo Airlines, an ultra-low-cost carrier, has begun exclusive nonstop service from Dayton International Airport in Ohio to Orlando International Airport. The new route will operate on Boeing 737 aircraft on Mondays and Fridays.
Avelo was founded in 2021 and now serves 34 destinations across the US. It claims to fly unserved routes to primarily underserved communities across the country. At least one airport on every Avelo flight, according to the airline, is a small hometown airport.
Every Avelo flight is nonstop. According to the carrier, this minimizes delays, cancellations and lost bags.
Avelo allows for itinerary changes or cancellations with no extra frees. Passengers can pay separately for priority boarding, checked bags, carry-on overhead bags, and bringing a pet in the cabin.
Customers can choose from several seating options, including seats with extra legroom, as well as reserved window and aisle seating. One-third of seats on Avelo aircraft are available for passengers who choose extra legroom.
