Austrian Airlines will add flights between Vienna and Montreal in late Aprilk. The year-round service will offer daily service in summer and five flights weekly in the winter. The carrier’s Star Alliance and joint venture partner Air Canada will take over flights on the Vienna-Toronto route. Andreas Otto, chief commercial officer for Austrian, said the carrier succeeded in attracting a strong partner in Air Canada to Vienna. In this way, he said, “we feature an additional destination in our Canadian offering and also strengthen our continental transfer traffic at the same time.” The flight connection between Vienna and Toronto will also be bookable as a codeshare flight via Austrian Airlines. Air Canada will begin year-round nonstop service on this route in late April, using the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. Air Canada will operate the same number of flights on the Vienna-Toronto route and feature departure and arrival times comparable to what Austrian Airlines has been scheduling.
