Airlines Reporting Corp. (ARC) announced that it has finalized Avianca’s New Distribution Capability (NDC) implementation with the ARC Direct Connect program. The partnership, according to the announcement,  enables Avianca to offer robust content and detailed information through its booking platforms for corporate travel buyers and travel agencies while providing a consistent settlement experience through ARC’s trusted platform.

Through ARC Direct Connect, Avianca will expand its reach into the Puerto Rican market and allow more passengers to take advantage of Avianca’s network, which is one of the largest in Latin America.

Rolando Damas, Avianca’s sales director for North America, Central America and the Caribbean said that as Avianca’s distribution strategy evolved, the carrier needed an NDC solution “that allows us to meet the needs of our customers. “

ARC Direct Connect, he said, “enables us to offer a consistent shopping experience across channels while leading to more personalized traveler bookings.”

Paige Blunt, senior manager of Direct Connect and ONE Order at ARC, said ARC Direct Connect “will help differentiate Avianca’s products and allow access to content previously only available in the airline’s direct channel.”
