Purchase of short-term meeting space rental company broadens shared space mission >>

Airbnb has acquired Gaest.com, an online marketplace focused primarily on meeting space for short-term rentals (hours/days). Founded in 2015 in Denmark, Gaest.com now operates across six continents. Guests book spaces on Gaest.com for interviews, meetings, workshops, team building events and photo shoots. Hosts can easily list their spaces to reach thousands of business professionals, and can optionally provide add-ons and other services to enrich the stay. Gaest.com will continue to operate as its own platform for the foreseeable future, and its associates will join Airbnb. David Holyoke, global head of Airbnb for Work, said the acquisition was part of a mission to enable anyone to share their space for professional and personal events. Bringing in a leadership team with strong domain knowledge, he said, “allows us to accelerate our work in this area.”
