United Airlines will begin codesharing with Vistara, an Indian full-service carrier, on Feb. 28. The partnership will allow United customers to book through trips to 26 domestic destinations across India, including Chennai, Goa, Hyderabad, Amritsar and Bengaluru. United flies direct from Newark to New Delhi and Mumbai; and from San Francisco to New Delhi. Club Vistara loyalty members will be able to earn and redeem points on flights operated by United. Vistara is one of only two major full-service carriers in India and is a joint venture between Indian conglomerate Tata and Singapore Airlines. John Gebo, United’s senior vice president of alliances, said the carrier is “excited” to offer shared customers the option of building a seamless itinerary when planning travel to cities beyond New Delhi and Mumbai.
