United Airlines has launched Clear lanes at Chicago O’Hare International Airport, allowing travelers to skip airport lines with iris and fingerprint scans. Clear is now available in Terminal 1 with one lane located at Checkpoint 2 for TSA PreCheck-eligible members and another at the standard security checkpoint, Checkpoint 1. Clear will open in Terminal 2 in the next few weeks. After a quick, one-time enrollment, Clear members can now use the service at more than 60 locations nationally, including more than 30 airports. Mike Hanna, vice president of operations at O’Hare for United, said that with Clear open at all the carrier’s hubs and at many other major airports where the carrier flies, customers can now enjoy a more consistent experience. As part of the partnership, Clear membership is complimentary for MileagePlus Premier 1K members; discounted pricing is available at varying rates for other Premier members, domestic United credit card holders and general MileagePlus members.
