Turkish Airlines has added a new “Stopover” service for transfer passengers departing from all nine of its US gateways and flying to Africa, eastern Europe and the Balkans, southern Europe, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Russia, Iran and Kazakhstan. Passengers flying to these destinations who have more than 20 hours of connection time in Istanbul can receive complimentary accommodations in centrally located neighborhoods and the opportunity to explore Istanbul during transit. Economy-class passengers will receive a one-night stay at a four-star hotel in the Sultanahmet neighborhood, while those flying in business class will spend two nights at a five-star hotel in Taksim, another neighborhood. Travelers will receive vouchers from airline staff after completing the flight booking process. The carrier recently introduced the Istanbul Bosphorus Experience, which enables business-class passengers with a transfer time of seven or more hours to have a boat tour and sightseeing excursion.
