Southwest Airlines announced an organizational realignment to take effect on Dec. 1 with a number of promotions, including the naming of Justin Jones as executive vice president-operations. He will report to COO Andrew Watterson. Jones joined the airline in 2001 and has since held positions across the company, including executive roles in operational strategy and performance, technical operations, revenue management and pricing.The other changes included:
Tony Roach will advance to a new role as senior vice president and chief customer officer under executive vice president and chief commercial officer Ryan Green, who now will report to Watterson. Roach will oversee the end-to-end customer experience. He has more than 20 years of experience at Southwest in multiple positions.
Elizabeth Bryant will advance to senior vice president and chief people officer, reporting to chief administration officer Linda Rutherford; she joined the airline in 1997.
Whitney Eichinger will advance to senior vice president and chief communications officer, reporting to Rutherford. She has been with the carrier for nearly 20 years.
Angela Marano will join Rutherford’s executive leadership team in assuming the role of vice president-artificial intelligence and data transformation to lead a new organization defining an infrastructure and governance to harness the power of data and artificial intelligence and the company’s data privacy office. She has held several positions in operations, customer experience and enterprise functions.
Jason Van Eaton will advance to senior vice president and chief corporate affairs officer, reporting to executive vice president and chief legal and regulatory officer Mark Shaw. He has been with Southwest for nearly nine years.
