New York is the most popular business travel destination globally, topping the list for the fourth consecutive year, according to Egencia, the corporate travel arm of Expedia. London was second; it last held the top spot in 2014 before being overtaken by New York in 2015. Europe represents two of the top three, with Paris coming in third as the city continues to establish itself as a popular regional business hub. Egencia data shows that from 2016-2018 air travel to the French capital experienced 20 percent growth. Rounding out the top 20 were Shanghai, Toronto, Singapore, San Francisco, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Chicago, Dubai, Mexico City, Boston, Montreal, Beijing, Los Angeles, Mumbai, Sao Paulo, Casablanca and Seoul. Andrew Dyer, vice president of global supply, said that while US and European cities retain the top three spots, the most interesting takeaway is how global business travel has become with five continents represented in the top 20 destinations.
