Alaska Air Group has named Constance von Muehlen as COO of Alaska Airlines, effective April 3. She succeeds Gary Beck, who has retired after 47 years in aviation. A 30-year aviation veteran, von Muehlen most recently served as senior vice president of maintenance and engineering. Prior to that, she was Horizon Air’s COO.

Alaska Airlines announced that Travis Gelbrich will become vice president of inflight, providing strategic and operational leadership to the inflight division and overseeing the carrier’s 5,600 flight attendants. He was previously managing director of guest customer assistance, research and experience. Prior to joining Alaska in 2016, Gelbrich worked at Microsoft for 20 years in roles focused on customer service, experience and advocacy.
