Appointments and promotions at Amtrak, Lufthansa Airlines, Southwest Airlines and Maritz Holdings >>
Amtrak announced that
Stephen Gardner will become CEO on Jan. 17, replacing the retiring William Flynn. Gardner joined the line in 2009 and had been serving as president since Dec. 1, 2020.
Lufthansa Airlines announced that
Jens Ritter will become its new CEO on April 1, 2022, succeeding Klaus Froese. A pilot, Ritter has held various management positions with the Lufthansa Group, most recently as COO of Eurowings. In other leadership changes at Lufthansa Group, Annette Mann will become CEO of Austrian Airlines on March 1; and Dr. Jörg Beibel will become CFO of Lufthansa Airlines on April 1.

Southwest Airlines named
Kayce Ford as vice president of enterprise management. She most recently served as senior director, customer support and services in the technology department. And
Marty Garza was promoted to vice president of operations technology. He joined the carrier in 1998 as part of the technology department’s college hire program.
Maritz Holdings, a meetings and incentives provider, named
David Peckinpaugh as president and CEO, effective Jan. 1. He currently serves as president of Maritz Global Events, one of the company’s core business units, and will retain that position along with new duties that include guiding Maritz’s overall business strategy and ensuring performance and operational excellence across the company’s portfolio. This is the first time the company will not be led by a member of the Maritz family, although several family members will remain on the board of directors.
