BCD Meetings & Events has named Christine Erickson as senior vice president-industry relations. Currently senior vice president, U.S. Events Solutions & BCD Sports (which she will continue to lead), she has been part of the company’s executive team for the last five years. Erickson has over 29 years of experience in the hospitality, travel and performance improvement industries.



Marriott International has appointed Satya Anand to the role of president in Europe, Middle East and Africa, a division within the company that encompasses over 75 countries and territories. A 32-year Marriott veteran, he has held a number of leadership positions including area vice president in western and central Europe and CFO for Europe.



Alliance Air, Air India’s regional subsidiary, named Harpreet A De Singh as CEO, making her the first woman to lead an Indian airline. Singh is currently Air India’s executive director (flight safety). She was the first woman to be named a pilot by Air India in 1988 but was unable to fly due to health reasons. She has also headed the Indian Women Pilot Association.
