The School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University has announced that, effective Jan. 1, Cheryl Boyer has been named president of the Cornell Hotel Society, the school’s 88-year-old alumni association. Boyer's 12-month term as president began January 1.

A 1987 graduate of SHA, Boyer is the chief operating officer of Fulcrum Hospitality. She has over 25 years of experience in consulting and asset management. Her experience has included InterContinental Hotels and Accor, Landauer Associates and Laventhol & Horwath. She hasheld senior leadership roles with Lodging Advisors, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Hotel Partners, Inc.

Southwest Airlines Co. has announced changes to the company's executive leadership. Thomas M. Nealon has been named president and Michael G. Van de Ven the airline's chief operating officer.

Nealon re-joined Southwest a year ago as EVP strategy and innovation. He had previously been a member of Southwest's board from 2010-2015 and also served as Southwest's chief information officer from 2002-2006. He has worked in a wide range of roles at Frito-Lay, The Feld Group and JCPenney.

Van de Ven is a 23-year veteran of Southwest and has served in internal audit, finance, and, for the last 11 years, operations. His experience has also included financial planning; fleet planning; operational support and analytics; and network planning. Prior to joining Southwest, he worked for Ernst & Young.

Chatham Lodging Trust has announced the appointment of Bill Brewer to the company's board of trustees, serving as an independent director and chair of the audit committee. He replaces the late Glen Gilbert.

Brewer is EVP, CFO and treasurer of Education Realty Trust, which owns, develops and manages student housing real estate. Before joining EdR, he held leadership positions at Sedgwick Claims Management Services, Inc., and PricewaterhouseCoopers where he rose to partner.

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has appointed SiuYin Ko to be corporate director of sales providing leadership for Rosewood’s North American Regional Sales organization. She joins the company from Chrysalis Development Group.

SiuYin has over 20 years experience at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts where she served as regional director of sales. Her prior roles included work at both CSI DMC and The Performance Group.
