Jin Jiang International, a Chinese travel and hospitality company, has completed the acquisition of Radisson Hospitality, Inc., a privately held lodging operator headquartered in Minneapolis that owns and manages multiple brands, including Radisson Collection, Radisson, Radisson Blu, Radisson RED, Park Inn, Park Plaza and Country Inn & Suites. It has more than 1,400 hotels open and under development. John Kidd, CEO of Radisson, said the deal marks an “incredible milestone” in the company’s history that will elevate Radisson to a new level of strength as a global leader in hospitality. Kidd notes that Jin Jiang is the fifth largest hotel company in the world and has a loyalty program with more than 100 million members. That size, said Kidd, along with the record number of Chinese consumers traveling abroad, provides new opportunities for Radisson.
