JetBlue announced that it will begin flying between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol late this summer. Boston-Amsterdam service will follow, according to the announcement, subject to receipt of government operating authority.
This will be the carrier’s third transatlantic city following the launch of flights to London’s Heathrow and Gatwick airports in 2021 and its service to Paris coming this June.
Robin Hayes, CEO, said the route is “long overdue for some competition.” He said that for too long, legacy carriers have locked customers in with very expensive fares and mediocre service. “Just like we’re doing in London and Paris,” he said, “we will bring fares down and improve the experience for customers flying between the US and Amsterdam.”

The New York-Amsterdam flights will operate daily on JetBlue’s Airbus A321 long-range aircraft, with 24 redesigned Mint Suite seats and 114 core seats, with an Airspace interior. (Airspace is an Airbus-branded cabin.) Seats will go on sale in the next few weeks.
