Frosch International Travel has purchased a 51% interest in Plaza Travel, a full-service travel agency in Woodland Hills, Calif., with 2019 sales of more than $80 million. The deal, according to a statement, enhances Frosch’s presence in California and gives Plaza Travel the opportunity to accelerate its growth in multiple markets and to pursue strategic acquisitions. Plaza Travel, said the statement, will benefit from access to technologies and Frosch's national and global infrastructure and platform. Frosch is based in New York. Plaza Travel, which has more than 100 advisors on staff, will retain its brand, and no major operating changes are anticipated. Steve Orens, president of Plaza, will remain as a partner. In a statement, Orens said, “The COVID-19 pandemic has provided a unique opportunity to partner with a great multinational company like Frosch to access an enhanced global network and leverage strong, personal relationships.”
