Delta will permanently waive change fees for international travel, including flights operated by joint venture and codeshare partners. Basic Economy fares are excluded from the new policy. This follows the carrier’s previous announcement of the elimination of change fees for travel within the US. Delta also extended the existing waiver of change fees for all tickets purchased through March 30, 2021 for travel anytime to anywhere. Ed Bastian, CEO, said no year has better demonstrated the value of flexibility than this one. He said that the airline’s approach of putting people first has led to the fee waiver and making other lasting changes to the airline’s practices “so customers have the trust and confidence they need long after the pandemic ends.” Delta is also continuing to block middle seats and limiting onboard capacity on all flights through March 30.
