Choice Hotels International has unveiled a new brand, Clarion Pointe, a midscale select-service brand extension of Clarion that, according to the company, “brings together the premium elements guests desire and an affordable travel experience.” The hotels will feature: contemporary design touches, including signature murals in guest rooms and lobbies that reflect local points of interest; “curated” food and beverage, including free breakfast, as well as craft beers, wines and small bites available for purchase; on-demand connectivity that lets guests stream from their mobile devices onto 49-inch TVs with free streaming-strength WiFi; and a “modern” fitness space featuring cardio equipment, a strength-training station and TVs that enable guests to stream workouts on demand. Anne Smith, vice president, brand management and design, said the company has leveraged Choice’s insights into experiential travel within the midscale segment and developed an experience that is “on pointe” with guest expectations for amenities and price.
