Hyatt Hotels Corporation has named Julia Vander Ploeg as senior vice president, global head of digital. She will be responsible for setting digital strategy and enhancing Hyatt's digital capabilities, managing revenue from digital channels and, according to the company, “ensuring Hyatt continues to advance the guest experience by providing seamless digital interactions throughout the Hyatt ecosystem.” Most recently, Vander Ploeg served as vice president of digital and business transformation for Volvo, where she was responsible for establishing a digital strategy for Volvo Cars. Prior to that, she helped McDonald's implement its first strategic, internal digital function; she also previously held roles at Ticketmaster, United Airlines and the Chicago Tribune.

Radisson has appointed Frederic Feijs as regional director for North Africa and Egypt. Feijs rejoins Radisson Hotel Group, where he started his career in the hospitality industry in 1998 at the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel Brussels. Since then he has held positions across multiple countries and continents.

Etihad Aviation Group has announced that Tony Douglas, CEO of Etihad Aviation Group, will assume responsibility for Etihad Airways. Peter Baumgartner, CEO since 2016, will serve as strategic advisor to Douglas, advising at the group level on global partnerships and innovation. The changes are part of a corporate restructuring that will see the group reorganized into seven business divisions: operations, commercial, human resources, finance, support services, transformation, and maintenance, repair, and overhaul.
