AmTrav became the first travel management company to sign an agreement with Journera, a real-time data exchange platform that has been working with airline and hotel partners. Jeffrey Katz, CEO of Journera, said that AmTrav understands how powerful his company’s data – including “deep knowledge of the full traveler journey” – can be to elevating the travel experience, managing expenses for corporate clients and improving duty-of-care capabilities. Journera, according to an announcement, has been developing its capabilities for the travel management vertical throughout the past year, including: improved customer service with knowledge of itinerary changes and cancellations made directly with a travel supplier; better insights into trips booked outside of policy; more comprehensive duty-of-care capabilities through data such as flight boarding signals; improved expense management through better knowledge of purchases such as baggage fees; and notice of air upgrade confirmation and wait-list notifications. Jeff Klee, CEO of AmTrav, said the real-time data from Journera will give the company an edge in anticipating customer needs and reacting quickly to them.
