American Airlines has introduced Flagship Business Plus, which offers standard in-flight business class service but with enhanced perks on the ground. Those perks include access to private Flagship First check-in areas and expedited security screening; access to Flagship First dining in American’s Flagship Lounges; and a third checked bag. Flagship Business Plus customers also gain access to the carrier’s London Heathrow arrivals lounge. American offers Flagship First check-in at London Heathrow, Chicago O’Hare, Miami, Los Angeles International and New York JFK. Flagship First dining, which is a free, sit-down meal service, is currently available at JFK, Miami and Dallas/Fort Worth airports. The Flagship First restaurant at LAX is temporarily closed. American said it plans to enhance the Business Plus offering in the future for travel agencies making purchases via NDC-enabled connections. American said the fare difference between Flagship Business and Flagship Business Plus will vary by flight and route. Flagship Business Plus tickets are now available for select international and transcontinental flights on AA.com and in third-party sales channels.
